The Ultimate List of Dog Breeds

Here you can find one of the most detailed free lists of dog breeds that includes a brief description of the breed. The list includes over 700 breeds and we believe that the largest such is freely available.

If you want, you can support us by sponsoring a particular breed in such a way that the link from the breed leads to your pages or social networks. You can see more about it on the Collaboration page.

The exact number of dog breeds is difficult to determine, as different organizations may have slightly different breed classifications and standards. However, the World Canine Organization, also known as the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI), currently recognizes over 360 breeds of dogs. The American Kennel Club (AKC) recognizes 197 breeds, while the United Kennel Club (UKC) recognizes over 300 breeds. It is also worth noting that there are many dog breeds that are not recognized by any major kennel club or organization, but we try to collect them anyway. If there is one that you know of that we have not included in the list, please let us know.
